1. Room4Love
A Long Island organization committed to doing bedroom makeovers for local children with cancer. The individual child’s specific needs and wants are of the utmost importance so that when the child comes home from a doctor’s appointment or a treatment, he or she will find a room that puts a smile on their face, is representative of them, and most importantly makes them feel good.
This is Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization. The organization delivers millions of pounds of food to a network of 570 food pantries, soup kitchens and other not-for-profit organizations that offer feeding services to those in need. It also offers education programs targeting hunger awareness and nutrition, as well as job training and more.
3. Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind
This Long Island charity has a simple mission: to provide guide dogs and training, free of charge, to people who are blind or visually impaired. The organization also offers public education vehicles to allow others to understand vision, visual impairment, blindness, and disability rights.
A foundation whose mission is to advance the scientific and medical research related to the diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of pancreatic cancer. 100% of every donation the Foundation receives goes directly to pancreatic cancer research.
5. Disabled American Veterans (DAV)
The most long-lasting veterans advocacy and assistance group in the country. Its core mission is to fulfill our country’s promises to the men and women who served. They invite everyone, veterans and civilian, men and women, young and old, to join them as they stand up for those veterans who risked it all when they stood up for us, our country, and our ideals
6. Breast Cancer Research Foundation
Their mission is to prevent and cure breast cancer with research related to treatment, cure and prevention. They are a top rated charity with more than 90% of donations going toward breast cancer research and awareness programs.
7. Beautiful Lengths by Pantene
This is a program sponsored by Pantene whose mission is to provide real-hair wigs to women who have experienced hair loss while fighting cancer. They have donated 42,000 real-hair wigs to the national American Cancer Society Wig Bank. Not only does Rosenberg & Gluck, LLP support the program through donation, but partner Erin Hargis has donated her hair to the program twice. We feel it is incredibly important to help provide these wigs to women battling cancer.
