Preventative Care – 5 Stars

The NY State Department of Health’s rating for preventive care at Brookhaven Health Care Center is 5 stars. This rating covers information on pneumonia and flu vaccination status for both long-term and short-term residents. 100% of long stay residents were assessed and appropriately given the pneumonia vaccine and 99.7% were given the flu vaccine. 99.9% of short-stay residents were assessed and given the pneumonia vaccine and 89.2% were given the seasonal flu jab. In all cases, higher percentages indicate higher quality preventative care.

Quality of Care – 3 Stars

The quality of care assessment considers six different qualities. Residents received higher-quality care if the value was lower.
